B-Side Music Therapy

About Us
B-Side Music Therapy is based in the New Forest, Hampshire. The service specialises in person-centred, trauma-informed Music Therapy for children, young people and adults. B-Side Music Therapy provides group and one-to-one interventions that are tailored to a person's needs by an HCPC-registered Music Therapist. These interventions offer person-led ways to engage in creativity and curiosity, empowering those when hope feels hopeless. As a service, we strive to offer excellent therapeutic and holistic approaches to promote connection with others, relieve distress and psychological symptoms, and build foundations for secure and safe relationships. We want to empower individuals, families and professionals to work creatively to enhance a person's emotional, social and psychological state.

Music Therapy
Music has a unique way of connecting with people beyond words, making it a powerful tool in a therapeutic relationship. Music therapy is a creative and therapeutic practice where trained professionals use music to support individuals in improving their mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being. It involves active music-making—such as singing, playing instruments, composing, or improvising—as well as listening to music to encourage self-expression, communication, and personal growth.
Music therapy can be particularly beneficial for children, young people, and adults who may find it difficult to express themselves verbally. By engaging with music in a structured and supportive environment, individuals can explore emotions, develop coping strategies, and build confidence. Sessions are tailored to each person’s needs, drawing from psychological approaches to promote empowerment and positive change.
Music therapy is used in a variety of settings, including mental health services, hospitals, schools, and community centres. It provides support for individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, trauma, disability, and social difficulties, offering a creative and accessible way to engage with emotions and experiences.
At B-Side Music Therapy, we use music to create a space where individuals can express themselves freely, connect with their emotions, and explore new ways of relating to the world around them.
